The Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO) mourns the passing of Brandon Dela Cruz, a proud member of Batch 5 and a cherished part of our FYLPRO pamilya. FYLPRO is a nationwide network of emerging Filipino American leaders committed to service, innovation, and strengthening bridges between the Philippines and the global Filipino diaspora. Brandon embodied this mission wholeheartedly.
As a delegate, Brandon brought energy, humility, and a deep sense of aloha to the program. His was an active alumnus who consistently encouraged other Filipino Americans to join this talented pool of leaders. Brandon believed in the power of connection and community, and he worked tirelessly to uplift others.
He was instrumental in supporting and sponsoring the very first FYLPRO Roadshow in Hawaiʻi, helping to bring our mission to life locally. Since then, he continued to champion and support each successive roadshow, ensuring that the momentum of FYLPRO’s work in Hawaiʻi could grow. For this, and so much more, we are profoundly grateful.
This is a tremendous loss not only for the Filipino American community, but for the entire FYLPRO network. Brandon’s generosity, leadership, and spirit of service will forever remain part of our collective story.
We extend our heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathy to Brandon’s family and loved ones. May we honor his memory by continuing the work he believed in and by carrying forward the light he so freely shared.
