FYLPRO’s Tayo Invites Applications for its Inaugural 2026 Youth Advisory Council
The Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO)’s Tayo proudly announces the launch of the inaugural Tayo Youth Advisory Council (YAC) — a national leadership program to empower Filipino youth across the United States.
Applications for the inaugural cohort officially opened November 26, 2025 and will be accepted through January 16, 2026 at 11:59 pm EST.
With a goal of honing and supporting emerging Filipino changemakers, the YAC provides a platform for high school youth to advise Tayo on issues primarily affecting their generation. The council aims to foster civic engagement, cultural awareness, and leadership within the diaspora.
The YAC establishes a representative body of youth leaders who will co-create initiatives in the following areas: Public Health, Policy and Advocacy, Editorial, Technology, and Volunteer and Outreach. Appointed councilors are expected to:

Participate in bi-weekly council meetings and project planning sessions;

Represent the voice of youth in advisory roles and contribute meaningful program discussions;

Uphold standards of professionalism, mutual respect, and accountability.
Program Eligibility
To apply for this program, you must be:

A high school student (approx. ages 14-18) residing in the United States

Passionate about supporting Tayo’s vision of “empowering Filipinx/a/o communities”

Able to commit up to 10 hours per month for council work
Though previous experience with Filipino culture is preferred, it is not required. The YAC welcomes applications of all backgrounds who are committed to Tayo’s core mission of empowering the Filipino diaspora. If appointed, councilors are required to attend the virtual kickoff orientation on February 06, 2026 via Zoom.
