FYLPRO Represents at Philippine Diaspora Summit and Signs MOU With Commission on Filipinos Overseas

FYLPRO was proud to be represented on 2 panels at the recent Philippine Diaspora Summit hosted by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) in Manila on June 16, 2026, bringing together some of the most accomplished Filipino leaders from around the world committed to strengthening ties between the diaspora and the Philippines.

Our alumni and leaders were honored to contribute to conversations shaping the future of global Filipino engagement:

Tyler Dos Santos-Tam (Batch 6, 2017), Honolulu City Councilmember, joined the Political Participation Panel where he shared the importance of cross-cultural coalition building to amplify immigrant voices. He emphasized the need to organize beyond urban centers and intentionally engage harder-to-reach and rural communities to ensure broader representation and impact.

FYLPRO President Genevieve Jopanda (Batch 9, 2022) spoke on the Youth and Diaspora Engagement Panel, highlighting FYLPRO’s community-centered approach to leadership development. From multi-city roadshows across North America to informal community meetups, and two years of relationship-building in Canada through TAYO gatherings and youth leadership summits in Ottawa, FYLPRO continues to demonstrate that meaningful diaspora engagement starts by meeting people where they are.

Constancio Paranal III, FYLPRO Executive Vice President, participated in the official signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between FYLPRO and the Commission on Filipinos Overseas, further solidifying our shared commitment to connecting the Filipino diaspora with opportunities to contribute to the Philippines.

Throughout the summit, FYLPRO leaders engaged with fellow changemakers from Australia, Canada, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Austria, and beyond—sharing ideas, building partnerships, and exploring new ways to harness the collective power of Filipinos around the world.

While our experiences may differ and our communities may be spread across continents, we were reminded that what unites us is our shared Filipino identity and our collective desire to give back to the Philippines.

For almost 15 years, FYLPRO has served as a bridge between the diaspora and the homeland, developing leaders who not only excel in their respective fields, but who remain committed to service and global Filipino impact.

We are honored that FYLPRO continues to be at the forefront of diaspora engagement.
